DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

About

The Department of Civil Engineering started in the year 2012 with an undergraduate programme, B. Tech in Civil Engineering with a sanctioned intake of 120 students, offered as per the curriculum of Calicut University, Kozhikode. From 2015, the programme is offered as per the curriculum of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). We were proud to launch an M. Tech course (Environmental Engineering), which elevated our status to greater heights. The Dept. takes immense pleasure in delivering technically proficient and ethically responsible engineers to the society and promises to produce more for improving the living standards of our nation.
The B.Tech programme aims at producing bright graduates in Civil Engineering to meet the rapid technological advances and industrial requirements. The department has highly qualified faculty members specialised in various disciplines of Civil Engineering. They add strength to the department with their competitive skills and steadfast dedication. The department is also equipped with eight engineering laboratories to cater to external projects and consultancy work.
The faculty members pursue research in areas such as Structural Engineering, Building Materials, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Engineering and Transportation Engineering. The department ensures the involvement of students in research activities by taking up relevant projects and publishing their findings in reputed international conferences and journals.
